What SwapX does
Photo swaps and video swaps — in your browser, with nothing to install.
Photo face swap
Drop in a source face and a target photo. The AI matches skin tone, lighting, and head angle so the blend holds up at full resolution.
Video face swap
Swap a face across every frame of a clip, with temporal smoothing that stops the flicker you get from frame-by-frame tools.
Every face in the frame
A group shot is found face by face, so you choose which one to replace instead of hoping the tool picked the right person.
How it works
Three steps, no editing skills needed.
Pick your face
Take a selfie or choose a photo from your library. A clear, well-lit, front-facing shot gives the cleanest result.
Choose the target
Use the photo or video you want the face to land in. SwapX detects every face in the frame automatically.
Swap and save
The AI renders the blend and returns your result. Save it to your camera roll or share it straight to social.
Why the results look real
Landmark-accurate blending
The model aligns facial landmarks before compositing, so eye line, jaw width, and nose position carry over instead of being stretched into place.
Tone and lighting match
Skin tone, colour temperature, and shadow direction are matched to the target scene. This is the step cheap swappers skip, and it is why their output looks pasted on.
Temporal consistency in video
Video swaps are rendered with frame-to-frame smoothing, which removes the jitter that appears when each frame is swapped independently.
Multi-face handling
Group photos work. Every face in the frame is detected and you choose which one to replace, rather than the tool guessing.
Consent comes first
SwapX is built for your own face, your friends with their permission, and licensed content. Using someone's likeness without their consent — and in particular creating sexual content of a real person — is prohibited and illegal in many countries. Read our Acceptable Use Policy.
Frequently asked questions
Is SwapX free to use?
Opening it costs nothing — there is no app to download and no account to create. Swaps are paid for with prepaid credits: one credit for a photo, more for a video depending on its length. No subscription, nothing renews.
Is SwapX the same app as SwapX Pro?
Yes. SwapX Pro is what people called the app, listed as AI Face Swap – SwapX before it was withdrawn from the App Store. The face swap itself still runs — in your browser. The only official website is swapxapp.com. More about the SwapX Pro name.
Is there a SwapX app for Android or Windows?
There is no app to install on any platform any more, and no official Android APK or Windows build. SwapX runs in the browser instead, which works on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac alike. Any APK or desktop installer advertised as "SwapX Pro" is not published by us and should not be installed. See platform availability.
Can SwapX swap faces in videos?
Yes. Upload the video you want the face to appear in, plus one photo of the face. Video swaps take longer to process than photo swaps because every frame is rendered, and they cost more credits the longer the clip. How video swapping works.
What happens to the photos I upload?
Images are uploaded only to generate your result and are deleted from processing storage after the job completes. They are not used to train AI models and are not shared with third parties for advertising. See the Privacy Policy.
Is it legal to swap someone's face?
You need permission from the person whose face you use. SwapX may only be used with your own face or with the explicit consent of the person depicted. Creating sexual content of a real person without consent is illegal in many countries, including under the US TAKE IT DOWN Act, and is strictly prohibited on SwapX.
What people make with it
Your face, somewhere it has never been.
A scene from the film
Put yourself in the shot you have watched twenty times. Works on a clip, not just a still, so the expression carries.
The group chat
Swap a friend into something ridiculous and send it. They have to be in on it — that is the whole deal here.
The photo you missed
In the family picture you were not there for, or the one where you blinked. Same lighting, same grain.
A look before you commit
A different decade, a different style. Cheaper than finding out at the barber.
Open it and make one
