Privacy Policy

The short version
Your photos and videos are used only to produce the result you asked for. They are processed by our AI provider, deleted from active processing storage as soon as the job finishes, and never used to train our models or sold to anyone. Everything below is the detail behind those sentences.
This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices of SwapX Studio ("SwapX", "we", "us") in connection with the mobile application AI Face Swap – SwapX (the "App") and the website swapxapp.com (the "Site"), together the "Services".
By downloading or using the App, or by using the Site, you accept this Privacy Policy, which forms part of our Terms of Use. We may modify this policy from time to time; see section 9.
1. Face data: the direct answers
These are the questions people actually ask, answered without hedging.
What face data does the app collect?
SwapX collects images of your face, including the details of eyes, nose, hair, mouth, skin, and other facial features necessary for the AI model to process the swap.
How is that data used?
Solely to replace a face in your chosen photo or video for entertainment purposes. Processing is carried out by our AI provider, Replicate, Inc.
Is it shared with anyone?
Yes — to provide the face swap function, your facial data and uploaded media are sent to Replicate, Inc., our third-party AI processing provider. Replicate provides protection for user data equivalent to that described in this policy. Media is also stored temporarily on our infrastructure using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud.
How long is it kept?
Once the AI model has produced your photo or video, your facial data is deleted from the active processing servers of both SwapX and Replicate.
Is it used for face recognition or to identify me?
No. SwapX does not use your data for facial recognition or unique identification under any circumstances.
Is it used to train your models?
No. We do not use your media to train our own models without your consent.
2. Information we collect
a. Information you provide directly
- Photos you take with your camera or upload from your device.
- Videos you take with your camera or upload from your device.
- Facial feature data extracted from your photos in order to provide the face swap function. This is transmitted to Replicate for technical processing only after you give explicit in-app permission.
b. Usage data
Information about your activity within the Services — which screens or pages you viewed and for how long — along with IP address, device model, screen resolution, operating system, session duration, approximate location, device identifiers (IDFA), and browser type.
c. Cookies and similar technologies
In the App, cookies are used for authentication purposes only (session cookies). Website cookies are covered separately in section 5.
3. How we use information
SwapX does not use your videos, photos or facial features for any purpose other than providing the face swap function. We do not use them for facial recognition or unique identification, and we do not use your media to train our own models without your consent.
Information other than videos, photos and facial features may be used to:
- provide, improve, test and monitor the effectiveness of the Services;
- troubleshoot, diagnose and fix technical problems;
- enhance the safety and security of the Services;
- understand user needs and provide relevant services;
- evaluate the effectiveness of our campaigns.
Uploaded content is stored on your device and in the cloud for a limited period and displayed exclusively to you. By submitting content for swapping, you expressly agree to its collection and processing by Replicate as set out in this policy.
4. How we share information
To provide the Services, SwapX works with the following processors and platforms:

Replicate is located in the United States and maintains high security standards for data processing. We ensure that Replicate provides a level of data protection consistent with global privacy standards, including the GDPR and Apple's privacy guidelines. Storage providers process data in accordance with strict data protection standards.
We do not sell your personal information, and your photos and facial features are never shared with advertising partners.
SwapX does not control third-party platforms beyond our API integrations, and we encourage you to read their respective privacy policies.
5. Cookies and analytics on this website
This section covers swapxapp.com specifically, as distinct from the App.
The Site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use our pages. This sets cookies in your browser and collects your IP address (truncated by Google before storage), pages viewed, time on page, approximate location derived from IP, device type, browser, and referring source.
We use this only in aggregate — to see which pages answer people's questions and which do not. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine Site analytics data with anything you upload in the App.
The Site sets no advertising cookies and runs no advertising trackers.
You can opt out at any time:
- Install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which works across all sites.
- Block cookies or use private browsing in your browser settings.
- Enable "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control, which we honour.
The Site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and the analytics script from Google's servers; these requests reveal your IP address to Google in the same way any web request does.
6. Data security
We take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (SSL/TLS) and secure servers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights and choices
You have the right to access, correct, delete, and limit the use of your personal information. You may also decline to share certain data by not using the AI-based features of the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — including under the GDPR (European Economic Area, UK) and comparable laws elsewhere — such as data portability, objecting to processing, and lodging a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Images created without consent
If you believe an image of you was created or shared using SwapX without your permission, email contact@swapxapp.com with the subject Removal request. You do not need to be a SwapX user to report, and we aim to respond within 24 hours. See our Acceptable Use Policy for the full process and further resources.
8. Children's privacy
SwapX is not intended for children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it as soon as possible. The App carries a 17+ age rating on the App Store.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are published on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes are also reflected in the App.
