About the app
What is SwapX?
An AI face swap app for iPhone and iPad. It replaces a face in a photo or video with a face from a source image, matching lighting and skin tone so the result reads as a single photograph. On the App Store it is listed as AI Face Swap – SwapX.
What is SwapX Pro, and how is it different?
Same app. "Pro" is how most people refer to it, and it is also the name of the premium tier inside the app — higher resolution output, no watermark, priority rendering. There is no separate Pro download. Full explanation.
What can it do?
Photo swaps, video swaps, and template scenes where you drop your face into a ready-made clip or image.
Who makes SwapX?
SwapX Studio. The only official website is swapxapp.com and the only official distribution channel is the Apple App Store.
Platforms and downloads
Is SwapX available on Android?
No. There is no official Android build and no official APK. Files distributed as "SwapX Pro APK" or "SwapX Pro Mod APK" are not ours, are not signed by us, and should not be installed. Platform availability.
Is there a web or PC version?
A browser version is in development and not yet released. There is no Windows or macOS desktop build today. Anything offered as "SwapX Pro for PC" is not ours.
Which iOS version do I need?
iOS 15.0 or later, on iPhone or iPad. The download is around 118 MB.
Can I use an emulator to run it on my computer?
No. Emulators such as BlueStacks and LDPlayer run Android apps, and there is no Android build of SwapX to run.
Pricing and purchases
How much does SwapX cost?
Free to download, with free credits included. Beyond those you can buy coin packs for individual swaps, or subscribe for a recurring credit allowance. Everything is purchased inside the app through Apple.
Do I need an account?
No. No signup, no email, no password. Purchases attach to your Apple ID.
I paid but my credits are missing.
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases. If that does not resolve it, email contact@swapxapp.com with your App Store receipt.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Apple manages subscriptions, not us. On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → SwapX → Cancel Subscription. Access continues until the current period ends.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong on our side, email us and we will help.
Is there a free unlock, mod, or redeem code?
No. Sites offering these are harvesting data or distributing malware. The free credits in the official app are the legitimate way to try it.
Privacy and safety
What happens to the photos I upload?
They are used only to generate your result, then removed from processing storage once the job completes. They are not used to train AI models and are not shared with advertisers. See the Privacy Policy.
Are my swaps visible to anyone else?
No. Results are returned to you. There is no public gallery and nothing is published on your behalf.
Is it legal to use a face swap app?
Using one is legal. What matters is whose face you use and what you make. You need permission from the person depicted, and creating sexual content of a real person without consent is a criminal offence in the US, UK, EU, and Australia. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
Someone made an image of me without my consent.
Email contact@swapxapp.com with the subject Removal request. You do not need to be a SwapX user. We aim to respond within 24 hours, and the Acceptable Use page lists further resources including StopNCII.org.
Troubleshooting
The app is not working or will not open.
Update to the latest version from the App Store first — older builds can lose access to the rendering service. If you installed it from anywhere other than the App Store, that build is not ours and we cannot support it. More on unofficial builds.
My swap is stuck or taking very long.
Photos usually return in seconds; video renders frame by frame so longer clips take proportionally longer. A job that never finishes normally means a connection problem, since rendering happens on our servers.
The result looks blurry or pasted on.
Almost always the source photo. Use a sharp, evenly lit, front-facing image with nothing covering the face, and try to match the target scene's lighting direction. Full guidance.
My video swap flickers.
Flicker comes from frames being swapped independently. Clips with heavy motion blur, rapid head turns, or objects crossing the face are the hardest cases. Why video is harder.
Can I use SwapX offline?
No. Rendering happens on our servers, so an internet connection is required.
Still stuck?
Email us and a person will read it. We usually reply within 24 hours.
